**About the Team**

Join us in this exciting role** **and become part of the Communication & Engagement Team at SMG. The team is formed by experienced, highly motivated, tech-enthusiastic, and very creative communication and project managers. We are responsible for all external and internal communication strategies, channels and initiatives across SMG. We also define, launch and manage a large variety of exciting and inspiring group engagement initiatives to help craft the SMG community.

**Job Description**:
**Establishment and development of sustainable relationships with external and internal stakeholders**:

- Serve as main contact for all relevant stakeholders: Media, investors, business partners, policymakers, the federal administration, customers and civil society
- As SMG's press spokesperson, you will be responsible for strengthening the company's reputation and positioning SMG while driving our share of voice for our priority themes. To do this, you rely on your existing strong relationships with the media, influencers and key journalists
- Develop comprehensive public affairs strategies that include policy and message development, coalition building and advocacy and the creation of materials and tools
- Building trust and positioning SMG in the Swiss economic and regulatory landscape. Build and lead relationships with policymakers or relevant third parties
- Lead external communications for SMG corporate, working in alignment with the different Business Units and colleagues (as internal communications and Marketing)
- Run the group’s newsroom, set the editorial agenda, content and planning
- Successfully manage relationships with an agile and structured leadership mentality

**Creation and implementation of the communication strategy**:

- Together with the Director of Communications & Engagement, you will develop a strategy that contributes to the achievement of the company's goals.
- Define target groups and smart communication objectives. Plan and implement the necessary measures in external communication channels
- Together with your communication colleagues, you break down the overall communication strategy to all sub-areas, so that the core elements can be translated into all business units and internal communication
- You structure and implement the SMG external communication plan. For that you develop the media and content strategy, defining the most relevant mix of media and public relations publications, tactics and key messages
- Coordinate all necessary activities, projects and publications to achieve SMG strategic communication objectives and brand reputation
- You use innovative communication elements and strategic storytelling to present specialist information about our business models simply and attractively
- Work closely and in collaboration with the Internal Communications and Engagement team members to align strategy, content and initiatives

**Setting up an effective monitoring system**
- You measure and manage our communication goals and activities based on comprehensive monitoring
- You constantly measure content performance metrics on goals, core messages, channels and activities, hence enabling identification of strengths and issues
- You analyse results for management and make recommendations for action

**Qualifications**:
**Who you are**
- Experienced senior communications leader with at least 5 years of experience in corporate communications (corporate or agency) with knowledge of the entire range of holding company communications (investor relations, media relations, public affairs, public relations)
- Comprehensive and strong network in the Swiss media landscape, politics and administration
- Demonstrated understanding of business strategies, digitalization, digital marketplaces and classified sectors and the Swiss political and media landscape. Ideally also deep interest in one or more of our verticals and focus: Real Estate, Automotive, General Marketplaces, Finance & Insurance
- Experience working in technology or digital sectors as communications leader
- Excellent strategic skills in developing public affairs, media and Investor relations strategies and actions
- Experience building, developing and maintaining media relationships across consumer and business media
- Previous experience in building or managing a corporate newsroom, content development
- Highly skilled in leading
