**About us**:
Street Child is a global network of non-profit organizations that exist to see all children safe, in school and learning. We work where the need is the greatest, with the most marginalised children and communities. We are willing to go to the world’s toughest places where others will not go, including remote, hard-to-reach areas and fragile, disaster-affected states.

Our focus is on low-cost sustainable solutions that make a real difference to the children we support. We use evidence to drive learning and constantly improve and scale-up our programmes, to create maximum impact for the most children at the lowest cost.

Wherever we work, we partner with local organisations, with the aim of building relationships based on trust and mutual respect, supporting the growth of local partners over time to take a leading role in their national development.

Street Child Suisse is part of this global Street Child network since 2017. There are currently 21 project countries where we work on achieving maximum impact locally such as Sierra Leone, Nigeria, or Nepal. In Europe, Street Child Suisse has 8 sister-organisations in countries like the UK, the Netherlands or Germany that focus on fundraising. Street Child Suisse is still a small organization but is rapidly growing, partly thanks to the other bigger members of the Street Child network.

**Profile**:
Street Child Suisse is looking for an enthusiastic board member with a focus on finances who identifies with the mission of Street Child as an international organization. If you are motivated, driven, want to take initiative and have an ambitious spirit please get in touch.

**Responsibilities**:
You will be part of a small board, working in close partnership with our Swiss country manager, the EU fundraising office in Barcelona and the other boards of our sister entities in Europe.

**Below are some examples of the tasks you will oversee**:

- Contribute actively to the board by giving strategic directions, defining goals, setting targets, and valuating performance against agreed targets
- Consult general management on a regular basis
- Review of annual accounts including balance sheet, g/l, and other necessary documents
- Manage the legal representation of the organization in accordance with fiscal and statutory regulations

**Requirements**:

- Board membership is on a voluntary basis
- Street Child Suisse is a small organization, so a hands-on mentality from the board members is beneficial
- Experience in accounting and finance management
- Interest in international development, education, humanitarian aid, and human right
- Availability to join quarterly board meetings and ideally additional meetings and events
- Having a wide social and professional network is considered a great advantage
- Swiss nationality is a plus and living in Switzerland necessary
- German/French and English speaker
- Average deployment of 4 hours per month
