Garda Capital Partners (Garda) is a multi-billion dollar alternative investment firm with over 20 years of experience deploying relative value strategies across fixed income markets for institutional investors. Garda has offices in Wayzata, New York City, West Palm Beach, Geneva, Zug, Copenhagen, Singapore, and Scottsdale.

Garda is offering one-month internships in its Geneva office within the Trading Assistant team, either in July or August 2024. The intern's main goal will be to understand how a Hedge Fund works and have a global view of what a Trading Assistant is doing. To achieve this, the intern will do a job shadowing mainly with the TA team, while also spending time with many other teams as well (Risk, Repo, Quants, PMs etc.). In Addition, the intern will have to complete a month-long project as defined by TA management.

**Main tasks of a Trading Assistant**:

- Capture trades timely and accurately into fund's trade management system
- Work with counterparties and clearing brokers to ensure that trades are matched and accurately reflected on trade date
- Liaise with Garda's Middle Office and external Fund Administrator on trade confirmations, and carry out amendments promptly
- Work closely with portfolio managers to investigate and resolve P&L issues
- Monitor swap book and reduce line items via riskless swap collapses with dealers
- Calculate and hedge the Fund's currency exposures
- Assist the repo desk with bond deliveries and failed trades

**Desired qualifications**
- University degree in Finance, Economics, or related field
- Experience with Fixed Income products is a plus, preferably within a Trading Support function
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Bloomberg
- Detail-oriented nature with strong numerical and verbal skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail, and a strong desire to learn
- Flexibility to work unconventional hours
