Intern - Information Systems - Indico [temporary]

The internship is located in the in the Production and Support Service, Division of Conference Management, Department for General Assembly and Conference Management, Geneva.
The internship is proposed to start as soon as possible for a period of two months and may be extended, up to a maximum period of six months.
The internship is UNPAID and full-time.
Interns work five (5) days per week (40 hours) under the supervision of of the Chief of the Information Technology Section in the Production and Support Service
**Responsibilities**:
Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager and working closely with the team, the Intern will be expected to:
- Assists in business analysis for requirements to be implemented in the Indico platform;
- Participates in the preparation of the training materials and the education of the clients on related IT topics;
- Assists in other IT functions as necessary;
- Assists in the incorporation of an integrated approach that includes a science and technology into the policy, planning and operational activities of the unit;
- Participates in in developing, managing and delivering project, project-design, and
- Performs other duties as required.

Education
To qualify for an internship with the United Nations, applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
(a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
(b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent).

- Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.

Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in French or English and knowledge of the other is required.
