Role Summary

The Director of New Business is a strategic critical role aimed at bolstering Viatris Switzerland's growth through the identification and execution of in-license and commercial partnerships with branded pharmaceuticals, as well as optimizing our portfolio through out-license and distribution deals. This role requires a blend of strategic foresight, industry expertise, and exceptional negotiation skills to drive the affiliate's success in a competitive market. This role reports directly to the country manager of Switzerland and is a member of the Swiss leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

1. In-License and Commercial Partnerships- Opportunity Identification: Proactively identify opportunities for in-licensing and commercial partnerships with branded pharmaceutical companies. Conduct thorough market analysis to uncover potential collaborations that align with our strategic goals.- External Networking: Build and maintain a robust network of industry contacts, including key stakeholders in branded pharmaceutical companies, to facilitate opportunities for partnerships.- Business Case Management: Lead the creation of comprehensive business cases for potential partnerships, including financial modeling, risk assessment, and strategic alignment.- Approval Process: Manage the local, regional, and global approval processes for new business initiatives, ensuring alignment with company objectives and compliance with regulatory requirements.

2. Portfolio Optimisation- Out-License and Distribution Deals: Work closely with the portfolio and product management teams to identify opportunities for out-licensing and distribution deals for both branded and generic products. Aim to maximize the value of our product portfolio outside our organization.- Strategic Evaluation: Evaluate the strategic fit of potential out-license and distribution partners, considering market reach, commercial capabilities, and alignment with our product strategy.- Deal Negotiation and Execution: Lead negotiations for out-license and distribution agreements, ensuring terms that are favorable and align with our strategic objectives. Oversee the execution of these deals, ensuring smooth transition and operational success.

**Qualifications**:
- At least 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a significant focus on business development, licensing agreements, and commercial partnerships.- Established network with branded and generic pharmaceutical companies in Switzerland and across Europe- Proven track record of identifying and executing successful in-license and out-license deals within the pharmaceutical sector.- Understanding of the Swiss pharmaceutical market, including regulatory landscapes, product lifecycle management, and healthcare system.- Exceptional analytical, strategic, and negotiation skills.- Strong network within the pharmaceutical industry, with a history of building productive partnerships.- Excellent communication and leadership abilities, capable of managing cross-functional teams and projects.
