The Platform for Shaping the Future of Health and Healthcare engages stakeholders in new models of public private partnership to identify and scale up solutions for more resilient, efficient, and equitable healthcare systems to keep populations healthy and deliver the best care.
The Lead will work with internal and external stakeholders to oversee the Forum’s portfolio on mental health, starting with a new initiative on mental health in the workplace. The Lead will shape and drive this portfolio through thought leadership, public engagement, and engagement with partner-initiated projects, as required.
We are seeking individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit and a future facing outlook on new opportunities for non-healthcare industries to drive systems change globally.
Reporting Lines and Interactions
This position will report to the Head of Health & Healthcare Initiatives.
Main responsibilities
- Project implementation
o Set the strategic direction, framework, and scope for the mental health portfolio
o Oversee 1-2 Project Fellows, ensuring the delivery of agreed targets within respective workstreams to meet organization’s objectives
o Manage working plan and deliverables for project chair/s, including quarterly check-ins with grantors and lead stakeholders to ensure progress on mutually agreed upon outputs
- Content curation
o Strengthen the Forum’s physical and digital platforms to promote a continuous exchange on the topic, integrating project activities and progress, lessons learned, and opportunities for collaboration with Forum members and constituents
- Community management
o Design and lead community engagement for the initiative. Network, ensuring that members derive value from the work and meet their objectives for engagement
o Curate an agenda to highlight and accelerate the work of existing mental health coalitions and identify new opportunities for action in this space
o Plan and facilitate leadership opportunities for the initiative community
Partner engagement
o Support the Forum’s business development efforts by identifying curating and pitching partnership opportunities within the health portfolio of work to increase the range of organizations engaged across sectors, industries, and geographies
o Work with teams across the Forum’s global Centres to enable the successful engagement of Partners and Members in Forum activities and events
- Delivery of agreed targets of the various assigned initiatives
- Ability to develop, manage, and coordinate partnerships, including with leading business, governments, and international organizations
- Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and assess collaboration opportunities in different contexts
- Thought leadership and expertise in the assigned initiative, including a broad network with experts and institutions working on these topics
- Demonstrated experience documenting and consistently sharing new opportunities, results, and milestones with internal and external stakeholders
Preferred requirements and experience
- 6+ years of work experience in a relevant field (global or public health, strategy consulting, government affairs, academia, international organizations) with a demonstrated interest in health and healthcare
- A bachelor’s degree in healthcare field or psychology and/or an advanced university degree (Masters, MBA or PhD) in a relevant field (public health, business administration, health economics, international development, public policy or social sciences) is preferred
- Experience working in the field of mental health or organisational psychology is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to design, implement and evaluate coalitions, programs and/or projects, including in multi-stakeholder or cross-sector settings
- Demonstrated ability to curate and manage an engaged community of highest-level stakeholders, to align on a common vision and sustain engagement
- A flexible, agile, and politically astute mindset necessary for working in a fast-paced team and engaging with myriad of external stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, and a high degree of diplomatic sensitivity
- Excellent verbal and written language skills in English; verbal and written proficiency in other languages would be an asset
