**Purpose of Role**

The Pastoral Care Coordinator plays a crucial role in fostering a supportive and nurturing environment within the school community. This position involves working closely with students, staff, and parents to promote the well-being and holistic development of all students, ensuring

they are emotionally and socially prepared to succeed in their academic and personal lives.

**Key Responsibilities of Pastoral Care Coordinator at Mosaic**
As a Pastoral Care Coordinator, you provide individualized support and counseling to students experiencing personal, social, or academic challenges. You develop and implement programs and initiatives that promote students' well-being and resilience. Facilitate conflict resolution and mediation among students when necessary. And maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive student information.

You are accountable for delivering on the desired outcomes in each of the components listed below, and the ongoing development of the school and learning improvement.

**1. Student Support**:

- Provide individualized support and counseling to students experiencing personal, social, or academic challenges.
- Develop and implement programs and initiatives that promote students' well-being and resilience.
- Facilitate conflict resolution and mediation among students when necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive student information.

**2. Well-being Programs**:

- Design and coordinate pastoral care programs that address the social and emotional needs of students.
- Organize workshops, seminars, and activities that promote mental health, self-esteem, and positive relationships.
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate well-being topics into the curriculum.

**3. Safeguarding and Child Protection**:

- Ensure the school’s safeguarding policies are up-to-date and adhered to by all staff.
- Act as a designated safeguarding lead or support the designated safeguarding lead in their duties.
- Train staff on child protection issues and reporting procedures.
- Respond promptly and effectively to any safeguarding concerns or incidents.

**4. Collaboration and Communication**:

- Work closely with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to provide comprehensive support for students.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to keep them informed about their child’s well-being and any concerns.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and case conferences as needed.

**5. Record Keeping and Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions, support provided, and any incidents.
- Prepare regular reports on pastoral care activities and student well-being trends.
- Use data to identify areas of need and develop targeted interventions.

**6. Staff Support and Development**:

- Provide training and support for staff on pastoral care issues, including mental health awareness and effective communication.
- Foster a culture of care and support among the staff, promoting their well-being.
- Act as a resource for staff dealing with student pastoral issues.

**7. School Community Involvement**:

- Promote a positive school culture that values inclusivity, respect, and empathy.
- Lead initiatives to engage the wider school community in pastoral care efforts.
- Organize and participate in school events that foster community spirit and student engagement.

**8. Health at school**

- Provide first aid and emergency care for injuries and acute illnesses.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a healthcare provider.
- Manage chronic health conditions, including diabetes, asthma, and allergies.

- Assess students' health needs and develop individualized health plans.

**c. Collaboration and Communication**:

- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and other school staff to support students' overall well-being.
