**Market Intelligence Manager**:

The Strategy and M&A function aspires to be a trusted advisor and partner to the Process Automation Energy Industries (PAEN) division, providing strategic guidance and support that helps drive profitabil-ity, growth, innovation, and long-term value creation. In your role, you will: Empower strategic decision-making and drive market leadership through insightful market intelligence. Conduct thorough market research, synthesize trends, and provide actionable insights, enabling ABB Process Automation Energy Industries to anticipate opportunities, identify emerging technologies, and outperform competitors. Play a vital role in managing relationships with third-party vendors, from initial vendor selection & negotiation to managing events and webinars. Your contributions will propel ABB to the forefront of the evolving energy landscape.

**This position reports to**:
Head Strategy & Business Development

**Your responsibilities**:

- Market research and analysis: conducting in-depth research and analysis of market trends, customer behavior, competitive landscape, and industry dynamics to identify opportunities, risks, and emerging trends
- Market forecasting: developing mid-to-long-term market forecasts to provide insights into market size, growth potential, and demand patterns
- Strategic planning support: Providing market intelligence inputs and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
- Competitor & customer insights: Synthesize competitor & customer insights from both internal stakeholders (e.g., Product Management team, industry business managers) as well as secondary market sources
- Reporting and communication: Compiling and presenting market intelligence insights on a quarter-ly basis to the division, including concise reports/presentations as well as appropriate dashboards (e.g., upcoming projects across the various industries)
- Market intelligence projects: Leading and managing specific market intelligence strategic projects, such as assessing total addressable and serviceable market, potential for new products or ser-vices, evaluating market entry strategies, or conducting competitive benchmarking
- Manage relationships with 3rd party vendors: selection and contract negotiation with market re-search companies with strong/recognized position. Responsible for arranging workshops, webi-nars, as well as collaboration events to help the division stay current on market trends
- Collaboration and stakeholder management: Collaborating with internal stakeholders such as sales, marketing, technology & product development, to align market intelligence efforts with business goals

**Your background**:

- 5-8+ years’ experience in market intelligence
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, finance, or engineering. Advanced degree (MBA, MS) is preferred.
- Deep understanding of energy markets: Possess extensive knowledge of the entire value chain of Process Automation Energy Industries (Oil and Gas, Chemicals and Refining, Power, Water, emerging energy transition areas).
- Market forecasting expertise: Have experience in developing mid-to-long-term market forecasts, including estimating our relevant addressable market
- Industry research and trend analysis: Proficient in conducting thorough industry research, monitoring trends, and identifying potential opportunities and risks. Able to distill information into concise summaries for publication
- Analytical mindset: Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex data and extract meaningful insights. Expert knowledge of excel. Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques is advantageous
- Strong communication and presentation skills: Able to effectively communicate market intelligence findings to diverse stakeholder
- Vendor management: Skilled in managing relationships with third-party market forecast vendors. Capable of evaluating vendor options, negotiating contracts, and organizing workshops or webinars for knowledge sharing
- Project management abilities: Experienced in leading market intelligence projects from start to finish, including project scope, data gathering, analysis, and development of actionable insights
- Collaborative and proactive approach: Work well in cross-functional teams, collaborating with col-leagues across different departments and geographies. Global mindset, inter-cultural sensitivity
- Fluency in English is essential (both written and spoken)
