In this role you will be supporting the strategic implementation of Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability at the Bern site.

Responsibilities include execution of the EHS strategy, driving behavioral and cultural change, and the continuous improvement of EHS practices and processes in alignment with CSL standards and values, regulatory requirements and industry best practices

**Responsibilities**
- Implements EHS global and site business objectives.
- Meets all swiss and applicable EHS laws and regulation and internal requirements.
- Develop under the management of EHS site Head the site safety culture and of an environmentally conscious culture and executes strategies and monitors and continuously improves
- Ensures an on-going state of compliance with all applicable EHS regulations.
- Develops and implements plans to ensure site conformance with the Global EHS Management System requirements similar or equivalent to ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
- Facilitates the management of significant EHS risks through the site and business unit risk management processes and risk registers.
- Oversees the effectiveness of emergency preparedness processes.
- Ensures that risks associated with CSL and CSL’s activities are proactively identified, assessed, documented and, where required, actions are taken.
- Determining/updating within the risk based approach the local risks, compliance obligations (applicable legal requirements, permits, licenses and standards, how applicable legal and other requirements must be applied
- Operational control implement actions identified monitoring and measuring on a regular basis the key factors of all relevant operations
- Success will be achieved through effective risk management and EHS project delivery by ensuring corporate wide EHS programs are adopted and implemented. Ensuring, through developing effective workplace relationships and supporting managers to establish safe workplaces and to mitigate risks for worker groups, that implementation of best practice EHS policies, practices and standards at Bern site, and all systems that underpin these initiatives, are current and compliant.
- Deploy continuous improvement and risk reduction activities through engagement of key stakeholders and development of internal resources

**Education**
- Degree or equivalent in relevant discipline from a recognised tertiary educational institution, preferably within the disciplines of OHS, environmental management, engineering or science related studies.

**Experience***
- A minimum of 7 years of overall experience in EHS. Experience leading EHS for a site/facility in a GMP or biological manufacturing environment is required. Experience in safety, environmental and chemical management
- Experience working in a matrix organization is preferred.
