Are you enthusiastic about developing research on mitigating inequality and discrimination in education policy with a focus on the attitudes of different actors in this policy field (public, parents, teachers)? Then the project “The politics of equal-opportunity policy in compulsory education in Switzerland” is the right choice for you.
The Graduate School for Public Administration of the University of Lausanne is looking for a **Postdoctoral researcher (80%)**, starting date between April and July (flexible) 2023. The postdoctoral researcher will work in close collaboration with Prof. Flavia Fossati and her team.

Expected start date in position : between April 1st and July 1st, 2023

Contract length : 1 year, with two possible extensions by 1 year (total 3 years)

Activity rate : 80%

Workplace : IDHEAP

**Your responsibilities**:

- Development and refinement of the research design in collaboration with the team, contribution of your own ideas to the project;
- Organization and coordination of the data collection;
- Implementation of the data collection (two survey experiments with different target populations and policy tracing of various educational reforms in Switzerland) together with the team;
- Writing high-impact peer-reviewed journal articles independently and in collaboration with co-authors;
- Reporting results at conferences, impact events and dissemination activities;
- Contribute to the redaction of the periodical reports for the SNSF and assisting with administrative tasks of the project.
- You will be part of the Lives Center for Vulnerability during the Lifecourse (CIR-LIVES) with the possibility to cooperate with its research fellows and with the project partners, namely Alexandre Afonso University of Leiden and Juliana Chueri University of Lausanne;
- Collaborating in administrative tasks of the chair;
- Possibility of co-teaching MA classes.

**Your qualifications**:
- Theoretical expertise and genuine interest in research on inequalities in education, public attitude studies and discrimination research;
- Experience in quantitative research methods with excellent skills in data analysis (Stata or equivalent), having already conducted survey experiments is an asset;
- A track record appropriate to the stage of their career;
- Independent thinking and a hands-on mentality;
- A professional attitude and conduct that includes organizational sensitivity, research integrity, pragmatism as well as excellent communication and organizational skills;
- A collaborative attitude and teamwork orientation;
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken (C2 level), is required;
- Knowledge of either French and/or German is an asset.
