As a member of the Global Drug Substance Development, you will work with a group of motivated scientists who are committed to developing and implementing solutions to support the production of new biological therapeutics.
Within this group, your mission will focus on understanding cell metabolism and developing a perfusion platform process, especially medium improvement in deep well plates and/or bioreactors ranging from 250 mL to 3.5 L. You will review the current state of knowledge in cell metabolism, medium development and propose/develop new chemical formulations for media, testing them for performance in bioreactors. You will program and use robotic platforms to perform blending of various medium formulations and evaluate their performance in cell culture.
You will be trained to work independently in the lab, including cell thawing, cell expansion, working under laminar flow hoods, and in-process control. You will actively participate in experimental design. Additionally, you will analyze and present your data in project discussions and write a comprehensive report to conclude your internship.
