**Your role**
- Do you have experience in providing compliance and operational risk advisory services to a business division? Are you a leader who is confident when it comes to speaking up for what is right and challenging at all levels?
- We are looking for a Compliance & Operational Risk (C&ORC) IB Head of Switzerland like you to:
- manage the Swiss Investment Bank (IB) C&ORC team covering the Swiss IB business sectors (Global Markets & Global Banking) and Group Treasury (GT)
- provide leadership and management to our wider C&ORC IB function
- ensure compliance and operational risks are identified and managed according to our risk appetite
- lead C&ORC’s interaction with regulators, internal audit & external audit firms on matters relating to the Swiss IB - this will include coordination & creation of responses, delivery of presentations and follow up responses during regulatory and audit visits
- lead interactions with other areas of Group Compliance, Regulatory and Governance (GCRG) on ad hoc investigations
- provide oversight and challenge of strategic developments in the IB and GT business to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements
- maintain effective internal relationships with key business partners to ensure all company initiatives and new issues are fully understood and considered in a compliant and commercially sensitive manner
- act as the point person for escalations for both business and C&ORC stakeholders to ensure effective issue management
- attend and present on C&ORC issues at various governance forums at all levels
**Your team**
- You will be located in Zurich, working in our IB-aligned C&ORC team as a member of our EMEA C&ORC IB Management Committees, reporting to Head of IB C&ORC EMEA
- We support UBS IB by partnering with them to effectively manage regulatory risk in an environment of collaboration and constructive challenge. Our duties include implementing and overseeing a framework to manage compliance related risks and to ensure regulatory and operational risks are identified, properly assessed and recorded. You'll play an important role in helping us develop risk mitigating measures and controls - and ensure adequate remediation plans are in place. You'll also collaborate with global colleagues to ensure that best practices are being shared around the region/globe.

**Your expertise**
- a minimum of 10 years' proven financial services compliance advisory experience
- sound knowledge and understanding of the regulatory environment as it relates to Investment Banking business activities
- ability to understand and quickly grasp complex financial arrangements, commercial activities and operational arrangements within the business and challenge with an independent mindset
- reliable and resilient (challenging situations and conversations don’t sway you)
- able to operate independently, acting as a self-starter and problem solver
- proven leadership and line management experience of medium-sized teams
- excellent communicator in English and preferably German combined with presentation skills
- strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence management and other stakeholders to successfully implement and deliver change
