Internship insect-fungus interactions on ash 80-100% (f/m/d)

As part of a project on invasive ash pests, the interaction between two alien organisms (ash dieback pathogen and emerald ash borer) is investigated using behavioral and feeding studies. You will support various experiments in the greenhouse, help collect phytochemical samples and be involved in maintaining a beetle colony. Through this internship you will gain knowledge in the laboratory and will be introduced to the work in biosafety levels 2 & 3. You will also gain insight into successfully conducting behavioral experiments with insects, measuring ash volatiles, and insect rearing.

You have a bachelor's or master's degree in biology, environmental science, or a related field. You have a flair for insects and plants and preferably have experience working in the lab and greenhouse. You are used to work in a team and speak German or English.
