Group Leader, Ai for Life Sciences

For its Site in the Basel Area, CSEM is establishing a new group 'AI for Life Sciences'. The group focuses on the development of innovative tools and AI technologies to enable the digital transformation in the biopharma sector. As a Group Leader you will build and lead this new activity.

**Your mission**

In close partnership with the Management of the “Regional Centers” Business Unityou lead and manage the group’s operations, set and monitor the budget and ensure the smooth running of all projects. You develop the knowhow and competencies of your group by building technical expertise and creating partnerships in the field. As an active member of the Research & Business Development teams, you oversee the definition of the contributions of your group in the BU roadmap and evolve the group's portfolio by contributing to the project acquisition and definition of research projects.

**Your responsibilities**
- Guide, manage and motivate a team qualified Engineers and Scientists
- Contribute and participate to strategic projects acquisition and finalize offers with the RBDs
- Coordinate the execution of simultaneous projects, ensuring quality and optimizing resource allocation
- Participate in trade shows, conferences and other marketing activities to promote this new activity
- Maintain a good understanding of the market and the evolution of technologies related to your fields
- Develop innovative spirit by proposing inventions in collaboration with the RBDs/PM/Expert/R&D Engineer
- Closely collaborate with the other Groups and Business Units within CSEM, as well as with academic and industrial partners in Switzerland and worldwide.

**Your profile**

**Know-how**
- Master or PhD in a field related to the intersection of life sciences and Artificial Intelligence
- Experience in
- drug discovery and development gained in prior positions in pharma and/or biotech
- biostatistics or data analytics with -omics date is a plus
- project management with multi-disciplinary teams at different seniority levels
- project acquisition and writing of projects proposals and offers
- Fluency in English is a must; fluency in German, knowledge of the other language is a plus
