Summary of the role:
This individual has broad oversight of all pertinent and impactful analytics and insights activities for the Cardiovascular, Metabolism & Pulmonary Hypertension Therapeutic Area (CVM & PH TA), to drive and shape strategies and tactics and identify new growth opportunities across the globe. The incumbent serves as the focal point for driving and/or integrating all strategic insights for the CVM and PH Disease Area Strongholds (DAS), while working closely with New Business Development (NBD) and DAS leads to translate these insights into tangible actions. The incumbent accomplishes this integration through leadership of a group of analytics and insights professionals who support and shape the overall TA strategy, commercial drug development strategies, new product/line extension launches, and licensing and acquisition decisions, using market research, advanced analytics, forecasting and competitive intelligence competencies provided by the dedicated team reporting directly to the GCIL. This individual must possess the ability to navigate within a complicated matrixed structure, partnering effectively across regions for accurate forecasting, functions such as R&D, Finance, and New Business Development (NBD) among others to enhance speed to decision making. This role will be part of the key management team of CVM & PH TA.

Key Functions of the Position:
Align and prioritize DAS/NBD Commercial Analytics goals to achieve both short term and long-term results of the TA
- Align global analytics and insights priorities against business needs in accordance with needs such as market characteristics, threats, prioritization of opportunities, and the pipeline
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the global commercial insights team
- Continually develop the team to bring in best practices and innovative analytics and insights approaches to the TA and recommend expansion as needed

Serve as the TA focal point to prioritize and triage functional analytics opportunities and issues, including
- Insights drawn from Market Research, Advanced Analytics & Competitive Intelligence
- Forecasting LRFP and R&D Portfolio Valuation for early and late-stage assets, including integration of regional forecasts
- Competitive Intelligence in partnership with NBD and R&D, expand knowledge and use of self-serve resources such as Signal and insights portal
- Business Development Project evaluations
- CVM & PH Strategy refinement

Take responsibilities for global consolidation of data lake, forecasting system and insight in partnership with regional counterparts as well as sharing of best practice across geographies and with GCSO Hub functions.

Interact with peers from other TAs within GCSO and Portfolio Innovation and Commercial Strategy (PICS) team to share best practices. Participate in cross TA work as necessary
