Head Planning & Analytics FP&A is a senior Finance leader, responsible for driving financial performance of Lonza. He/ she leads all group-wide financial planning activities and supports value creation through insights and analytics. He/ she plays an instrumental role in strategic capital allocation decisions and operational excellence initiatives across Lonza. He/ she actively helps to shape engagement with critically important external stakeholders: investors, analysts, rating agencies, etc. to drive sustainable shareholder value creation with direct impact on Lonza stock price and valuation. He/ she helps define performance goals for Lonza incl. critically important commitments to investors (FY Outlook, Mid-term Guidance). Role implies direct exposure to and regular active dialogue with CFO, CEO, EC and senior executives across Finance and business.

Key responsibilities:

- Drive business steering and financial performance management of the Company in close collaboration with Lonza CFO, CEO, EC and other key stakeholders
- Identify strategic value creation opportunities, anticipate risks and threats for Lonza and propose mitigating actions
- E2E responsibility on key reporting activities for top management, EC and BoD to facilitate effective decision-making critical to drive performance and value creation
- E2E lead on all critical financial planning activities (Outlook, Target, BSR) - set ambitious but achievable guidance, drive analytics, foster constructive discussions on business opportunities and risks, deliver efficient process
- Support Group strategy execution by facilitating strategic capital allocation decisions through insights and analyses
- Lead dialogue with senior management on financial performance and support EC in business steering through value-adding analyses on key value levers (productivity, growth projects, etc.) in partnership with Business FP&A team and other Functions (e.g., HR, Ops, Quality)
- Set strategic targets for Company’s management for internal (BoD, LTIP) and external (investors/ analysts - Mid-term Guidance) stakeholders with direct impact on share price and company valuation
- Lead company valuation and provide insightful analytics on capital markets topics (share price, valuation); derive recommendations for investor positioning, equity story and other topics critical for share price performance and valuation
- Regularly assess Lonza performance against external benchmarks (peers, analyst/ investor expectations) and derive conclusions for business steering
- Support CFO and IR in crafting financial “storyline” for investors and analysts; anticipate and proactively address potential questions/ focus areas
- Partner with Group Functions (Treasury, Tax, Corp Accounting, etc.) to accelerate non-operational drivers for value creation (optimal capital structure, funding costs, dividend/ buyback, tax rate, etc.) and support interactions with other external stakeholders (e.g., rating agencies, auditors)
- Build and maintain strong relationship with business heads, divisional finance teams, corporate functions and other stakeholders within and outside Finance
- Lead a team of senior high-performing individuals and develop them

Key requirements:

- M.A., M.Sc. or equivalent in the field of finance/Accounting; MBA or PhD. Is preferred in the field of Business
- Must be business fluent in English
- Seasoned Professional with advanced no. of years of experience within Finance organizations in high-profile multi-nationals. Prior experience in banking/ consulting/ investment funds a plus.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of CDMO end markets and business model.
- Strong corporate finance / FP&A expertise and experience in driving financial performance.
- Executive presence and ability to manage senior stakeholders.
- Drive and pro-active attitude. Persuasiveness and strong communication skills.
- Agility and experience of operating in a dynamic context of a growing company.
- Experience in leading teams and developing talents
