**Indirect Tax Manager**

**Essential Functions and Responsibilities**
**Indirect Tax - 90%**
- Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders on the overall VAT compliance process to ensure VAT/GST returns are filed and liabilities are settled on time.
- Managing the overall Indirect Tax compliance process including, but not limited to:
- Overseeing the timely provision of VAT compliance data to a third-party firm for the purposes of preparing VAT/GST returns
- Timely review and approval of VAT returns prepared by a third-party firm before they are submitted to the tax authorities
- Overseeing timely payment of VAT/GST liabilities
- Timely review and approval of VAT/GST reconciliations (i.e., reconciliation of VAT/GST returns against VAT/GST payable and receivable ledgers)
- Supporting the Indirect Tax Director with advising the business on the applicable VAT rates that are applicable to new product launches in EMEA.
- Supporting the Indirect Tax Director with identifying and implementing improvements required in current ERP systems in order to meet VAT legislation requirements in EMEA. This includes support with preparing business cases for change.
- Advising the business on the VAT implications of new supply chains/business initiatives
- Identifying, quantifying and monitoring uncertain VAT positions in EMEA in accordance with FAS 5 accounting standard.
- Managing internal and external teams involved in the VAT compliance process.
- Liaising regularly with our OUS Finance Leaders and the global tax team (based in Dublin, Ohio).
**Corporate Income Tax (“CIT”) - 10%**
From time to time, you may be requested to support the CIT team in Dublin, Ohio, with the following tasks for certain EMEA legal entities:
- Coordination with tax advisers and accountants on tax returns (CIT and WHT) and tax provision work to ensure all tax returns are filed on time.
- Review and approve all tax provisions for the financial statements in a timely manner
- Review of tax (CIT and WHT) returns
- Review of tax provisions for the statutory financial statements
- Review of deferred tax calculations (i.e., IAS 12)
- Assistance with the preparation and review of year-end tax packages and tax payable reconciliations
- US GAAP tax provisioning work including STAT to GAAP adjustments
- Coordinate with local country advisors, the broader CAH Corporate tax team and / or CAH business partners on quarterly processes to provide and support the controls and analysis of activities that could impact the US GAAP income tax provision including identification, quantification and tracking of FIN 48 / uncertain tax positions uncertainties. Track activity in the tax accounts including maintenance of tax payable and deferred tax balance support and reconciliations.
- Completion of return to provision calculations including working with CAH business partners to complete related accounting entries to true-up balances.
- Processing of timely CIT and WHT payments
- Assistance with the group's WHT obligations
- Assistance with tax audits and controversy for EMEA
- Advising on transfer pricing matters for EMEA
- Advice and assistance with tax planning matters in EMEA
- Liaising with advisors on ad hoc direct and Indirect tax matters across EMEA
**Qualifications & Experience**
- Degree holder in Accounting or Finance
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACCA or ACA) and Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA)
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Minimum of 7 years tax experience
- Tax accounting experience (IFRS). US GAAP tax accounting, FIN 48, and FIN18 advantageous
- Experience handling corporate direct and indirect taxes in the EMEA region
- Experience liaising and coordinating with external consultants
- Proven history of managing multiple tax projects with mínimal supervision
- Experience working with SAP advantageous
- Big 4 experience advantageous
- Multi-national industry experience and knowledge strongly preferred
- Experience with US-based headquartered office advantageous
