**WHAT UTOPIANS DO**

The open secret is that the music industry is struggling with the very basics of music accounting: What was played, when and where? Who should get paid and how much?

Utopia Music is bridging the data gap by connecting global consumption, accurate metadata, and fast payments to an industry-wide trust platform. Our goal is to unlock creative value and enable** Fair Pay For Every Play** to make a better world for Music. The solutions we offer do not threaten to usurp the role of industry incumbents - it is about bringing transparency in the industry and supporting efficient royalty collection for all.
**THE ROLE**

Utopia Corporate Development M&A team focuses on sourcing, evaluating, negotiating and executing mergers and acquisitions. We are currently looking for an experienced M&A professional to support cross-functional deal teams, often across several simultaneous transactions, through evaluation to confirmatory due diligence, integration planning and execution.

You will work closely with the deal team and serve as the bridge between the Corporate Development M&A team and internal and external stakeholders, including external advisors. You will set and manage activities, priorities, and milestones for all stakeholders throughout the M&A process. This position reports to the VP, M&A Integrations.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Manage operational aspects of the M&A process to ensure M&A activities are executed in an efficient and effective manner
- Ensure all stakeholders (Utopia and target company) are aligned on reaching key
milestones and constantly kept up-to-date on projects’ updates, deliverables,
assignments, timelines, costs, etc
- Own the operational process, infrastructure and tools to manage and track progress and KPI’s throughout the M&A process
- Bringing structure and repeatability to the way Utopia acquires and integrates companies

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Together with the Corporate Development deal team, project manage M&A transactions from start to finish by partnering with internal and external stakeholders, including external advisors
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external advisors and host operational meetings (e.g. co-value discovery meetings, scheduling, issue resolution, quarterly business reviews, etc.)
- Schedule and host cross-functional meetings with internal and external stakeholders (Utopia and target company), provide reviews for ongoing projects to assess progress, provide guidance, assess risks and create mitigation plans
- Support the target company management team with transaction priorities, engage appropriate resources and navigate throughout the Utopia M&A process
- Author and distribute regularly scheduled written updates for each transaction, and present updates to executive management
- Harmonize and document Utopia’s M&A processes, workflows and tools. Ensure adherence among all cross-functional teams
- Partner with the deal team on post-integration transaction assessments, document transaction success and lessons learned and refine due diligence and integration processes, procedures and plans to help ensure optimal outcomes in the future

**IDEAL CANDIDATES**
- Proven problem solving, and process and project management skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain high performance under uncertainty and changing circumstances
- Analytical skills allowing to prioritize initiatives and to propose alternative approaches with related pros and cons
- Ability to keep the bigger picture in mind while still looking after details
- 3+ years of M&A experience
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work with a diverse team and cross-functional partners, motivating and collaborating while driving results
- Continuous improvement mindset; ability to seek out and implement internal or external best practices
