Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich is located in the heart of the old town, within the main business centre, close to the city’s leisure attractions and a short walk from the shores of Lake Zurich. Set to open end of 2023, Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich will feature 80 guestrooms and suites and three dining outlets, comprising an all-day dining venue, a speciality restaurant, and a lobby lounge. The property is ideally placed for meetings and gatherings, and the renovation will enhance conference and event facilities, including a grand historic ballroom.

As Director of Group & Events, you will be responsible for the following **duties**:

- Managing group and event requests for the hotel
- Develop seasonal and promotional offers
- Negotiating and following up with clients to convert any requests and do the offer
- Preparation of the "function sheet" (service order) and passing the file to the operational departments during the "BEO” (Banquet Event Order) and Group meetings
- Check the invoicing of events and/or accommodation for a group
- Monitoring the Yield Management strategy daily and implement the Yield Management system to achieve the Hotel Budget
- Meeting the profitability target set in the budget and ensuring the optimisation of the department's sales
- Achievement of departmental goals and implementation of Mandarin Oriental quality standards
- Managing and supporting the Group and Events team
- Training, coaching and developing employees, conducting feedback and appraisal interviews
- Coordinate with all relevant departments the smooth and guest-oriented organisation of events and/or accommodation of a group
- Be aware of Information Security, Safety and Risk Management of your department

As Director of Group & Events, we **expect** from you:

- Completed vocational training.
- At least 2 years experience in event sales in upscale hospitality
- Leadership, organizational skills and the ability to lead a team of employees from different cultures with sensitivity and discipline
- The spirit to exceed expectations and to drive results
- Strong Written and verbal communication skills - guests will come to you with both complaints and positive feedback
- Computer and PMS skills, ideally HMS and Delphi
- High quality awareness, excellent manners and well-groomed appearance, as well as a positive charisma
- Expressiveness, open-mindedness and team spirit
- Flexibility in working hours
- Be fully aware of the competition, events and happenings in the City of Zurich and surroundings
- Fluency in German and English is essential. Other foreign languages are advantageous
