Akselos is a VC-funded scale-up growing at a fast pace globally (+100 employees).

The position should be located ideally nearby Akselos offices in the following countries: in Netherlands, Switzerland, U.K or Portugal.

**POSITION BACKGROUND**

Following our recent growth, we are looking to hire a financial controller whose role will be to oversee accounting operations and build out the department and processes. The role will be bringing expertise in accounting standards and processes in-house to the company. There will be opportunity to grow and build alongside the company.

The additional resource will be responsible for the following areas and activities:

- Global Accounting / Reporting / Internal Control
- Global Tax Compliance

**ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Financial Operations / Reporting / Internal Controls**
- Oversee financial operations
- Manage Group Treasury and Cash Flow, optimising cash balances
- Responsible to Initiate and implement systems to ensure accurate and timely consolidated financial statements preparation on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
- Coordinate and perform with the help of external accountants and local admin (VN) quarterly and annual closing of the mother company and its subsidiary
- Manage relationships with external auditors and other stakeholders, and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
- Administrative control - payroll, expenses, receivables and payables management
- Accounting administration of the financial systems of Akselos (Netsuite by Oracle)
- Build the department and processes to ensure efficient operations, shareholder satisfaction and compliance

**Global Tax Compliance**
- Ensuring compliance with administrative duties related to filings in various countries
- Managing ad-hoc projects with Big 4 consultants to ensure global tax compliance
- Assisting sales executives in structuring deals with foreign customers

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**

**Education**:

- Accounting certification (ACCA, CPA or equivalent) - strictly required
- Degree in finance/accounting/administration or related topic

**Professional experience**:

- Proven experience of 3-10 years in an accounting/ auditing role working with international firms
- Plus : experience working in a Big 4

**DESIRED SKILLS AND JOB-RELATED DEMANDS**
- Fluent in English speaking & writing (mandatory)
- Working Knowledge of Finance and Auditing Best practices
- Experience with ERP, Netsuite, Oracle or similar is a plus
- Experience with matrix reporting and working with teams in global locations
- Analytical and methodical, with great attention to detail and accuracy
- Willingness to grow with the company
- Strong critical thinking skills along with financial acumen
- Adaptability and flexibility to changing priorities and deadlines.
