Manufacturing, Agribusiness and Services (MAS) is one of IFC’s key strategic priorities and the engages in a wide range of sectors including agribusiness & forestry, chemicals & fertilizers, construction materials, manufacturing, tourism, retail, and property. The department also seeks to maintain IFC, as part of the World Bank Group, at the cutting-edge of helping MAS clients identify solutions to new and emerging challenges.

IFC is seeking an ETC to support IFC’s advisory activities in Manufacturing, Agriculture and Services (CMG) and to support Better Work, which is a partnership between IFC and the International Labour Organization (ILO) that works to improve working conditions and competitiveness in global garment supply chains. Started in 2007, Better Work actively partners with over 47 global apparel brands & retailers in over 2,000 factories in 13 countries. Better Work unites the expertise of the ILO on labor with that of IFC in private sector development. The Better Work program supports long-term sustainable solutions that build cooperation between governments, employers’ and workers’ organizations, and international brands & retailers. Within IFC, Better Work is hosted in the MAS Department.

**Duties and Accountabilities**:

- Lead IFC’s day to day engagements with ILO on Better Work and support IFC’s broader partnership with ILO.
- Collaborate within IFC and with ILO to enable the development and effective delivery of offerings related to labor, workforce productivity and gender. Leverage Better Work expertise, knowledge and approaches to help IFC identify, prevent, mitigate and address labor-related risks in its investments.
- Lead IFC advisory engagements that bring Better Work approaches to IFC clients in different regions and industries, including through IFC’s “Gender Equality and Returns” training program;
- Deliver IFC training and advisory to help IFC clients improve workforce productivity and operational efficiency through lean;
- Ensure IFC advisory projects move smoothly through the IFC project cycle and manage internal project governance, including preparation of project documents, reporting, budget, legal agreements, results monitoring and evaluation (M&E); contribute to fundraising activities, donor relationship and reporting; manage procurement and supervision of consultants/contractors; lead and support business development efforts.
- Contribute to communications and knowledge creation & dissemination: (i) internal and external communications activities; (ii) develop client pitchbooks; (iii) webinars and presentations to communicate about findings, lessons learned, and results.

**Selection Criteria**
- Master’s degree in economics, finance, business or equivalent and at least 8-10 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong understanding of IFC processes and procedures.
- Excellent knowledge of excel and power point.
- Experience managing complex projects and handling every aspect of projects from early stage to completion, including business development, project design, finance, staffing, legal aspects, Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E), reporting, and communications.
- Experience developing and managing client relationships across different cultures and industries. Experience leading advisory engagements with businesses.
- Knowledge about workforce development, gender diversity and women’s empowerment at the workplace, employee engagement and empowerment, Lean management, leadership development.
- Self-motivated, creative, excellent organizational and project management skills, proven ability to perform multiple tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a willingness to work in a team environment.
- High levels of energy and resourcefulness; problem solving and learning ability; demonstrated ability to deliver results under time pressure.
- Ability to deal sensitively in multi-cultural environments and build effective working relations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in French is strongly preferred.
- Commitment to IFC and the World Bank Group’s mission, strategy and values.
- Ability to travel and work across time zones required.
