Head of Market Risk Management

Axpo is seeking an experienced Head of Market Risk Management to lead and innovate in our dynamic Market Risk Management department. This role is crucial to our strategic risk management initiatives, offering a challenging and rewarding career in the heart of our operations.
**What You Will Do**:
- Direct and develop the Market Risk Management strategy and operations.
- Supervise the Reporting and Risk Metrics teams, ensuring precise annual performance measurement and IFRS reporting.
- Serve as the primary contact for front office queries on P&L and risk, including critical analysis and methodological issue escalation.
- Oversee the advancement of P&L and risk reporting systems.
- Ensure compliance with risk limits and support escalation procedures for limit overruns.
- Provide analysis, recommendations, and explanations in liquidity and market risk to upper management.
- Lead the Central Portfolio Management, collaborating with senior traders and management for liquidity and risk management.
- Support Corporate Communication on technical liquidity aspects, including presentations and media interactions.
- Liaise with external entities on trading and risk management methodologies.
**What You Bring & Who You Are**:
- A university degree with a quantitative-analytical focus.
- Extensive experience in trading and energy within a middle office or risk management environment.
- Deep knowledge of financial and commodity/energy markets, valuation methods, transfer pricing, and financial instruments.
- Expertise in framework agreements and their operational implications.
- Proficiency in IT systems, database queries, and reporting platforms.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, excellent judgment, and a confident, engaging demeanor.
