**HR Compliance and Internal Controls Lead**:

In this role you will lead as functional expert, the design of Internal Control and Compliance activities, driving integration, standardization and sustainability across HR. Lead the execution of, and participate in, global projects in HR ensuring Compliance with Group internal control requirements. Responsible for the Group Hire to Retire (H2R) process, including the associated Financial Applications, Internal Controls (IC) and efficient operation of the HR process. Drive the design and implementation of a standardized, high quality system of Internal Controls for H2R.

**Your responsibilities**:

- Design the control strategy for the H2R process in line with our Group Internal Controls methodology to determine control ownership between different HR functions, implement the strategy and oversee the maintenance of global standard controls for H2R.
- Lead the design of all relevant H2R controls as part of our HR digitalization project.
- Determine the degree of standardization in the H2R process including minimum control requirements, review and approve adjustments proposed by countries and optimize the combination of controls for H2R on process or entity level.
- Perform regular assessments of the risk environment in the H2R process, run updates in the H2R global control set and ensure local control ownership is addressed adequately and maintained in related risk and control tools.
- Collaborate with our Assurance, Risk and Internal Control (ARIC) functions, manage expectations of key stakeholders and develop effective relationships with internal / external auditors or global program leads.
- Support internal and external auditors in their activities, including monitoring and facilitating timely implementation of defined management action plans identified as part of audits in the area of Internal Controls.
- Work closely with relevant HR teams to provide expert guidance and best practices to drive harmonization /standardization globally and to run continuous improvement projects ensuring compliance with Group Internal Controls requirements.
- Design and deliver communication and training programs for HR employees to increase risk awareness, to promote an integrated risk management approach in HR operations / projects, and to drive behavioral change in order to continuously improve HR service delivery.

**Your background**:

- Advanced expertise in all H2R process steps and related risks/controls as well as good understanding of interfaces with other relevant end-to-end financial processes, especially R2R and P2P.
- Profound knowledge of the Internal Control and Compliance requirements within H2R
- Sound understanding of the relevant SAP HR module (infotypes and transaction codes: master data, time management and payroll/expense handling) and risks (potentially) embedded in here.
- Experience with Workday is an advantage.
- Stay abreast with international standards and frameworks (IIA, SEC / PCAOB, COSO) as well as ABB directives, guidelines and regulations as laid down in CFO Portal (FiPo) and the ABB Controller Handbook.
- Understanding of annual Assurance and Internal Control Timeline including contributions according to assigned role and tasks.
- Awareness of ABB’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) strategy and process cycle, as well as the latest COSO (Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission) framework.
- Experience in developing and maintaining sustainable relationships with internal and external auditors.
- Highest level of integrity combined with excellent analytical skill, the desire to simplify and professional skepticism.
- Long-term track record in consultancy, change/project management and coaching/training.
- Experience in working across borders and cultures in a complex organization.
- Proficiency in English - other languages useful.
