**We currently have opportunities for **4 trainees **in **4 different teams**:

- Agriculture Risk Modelling
- Natural Catastrophe Research & Development
- Pricing Capital and Governance
- Actuarial Methods & Insights

Contract: fix-term for 12 months; extension for 6 months possible

**Agriculture Risk Modelling**
The team is responsible for mode l ling and pricing of agriculture reinsurance contracts globally. We analy z e weather, agriculture, and natural catastrophe risks, review scientific literature including drought, flood, frost and hail, and their impact on crops. You will work closely with all team members and support and perform technical pricing and modelling of agriculture reinsurance contracts globally.

**Cat R **esearch **& Development**
In this role, you will work with the Head of Cat R&D to design, lead and undertake bespoke project work to further enhance our understanding / modelling of natural peril risks across all SCOR’s portfolios: This incl udes supporting Natural catastrophe model research and development activities, ensuring that new models are and existing models remain fit for use in pricing, capacity and capital management. During your traineeship, you will be assigned to specific tasks related to natural catastrophe models ( e.g. development, documentation, reporting, solvency 2).

**Pricing **Capital and Governance**
This team focuses on the continuing development of pricing and profitability metrics, ensuring that they are consistently linked to the internal model, IFRS17 systems, pricing tools, and underwriting systems. We manage the allocation of capital, retro costs, and internal expenses to the whole SCOR P&C business. For this purpose, we develop bespoke tools and analytics to understand and enhance pricing systems. Also, reviews of Solvency 2 results, pricing guidelines, and processes are part of the tasks.

**Actuarial Methods & Insights**
This team focuses on the development of actuarial methods and their implementation in our pricing tools and will use our data to derive insights to improve our understanding of the risk within the business we price. We deploy enhanced actuarial analytics tools developed in R and Python to derive insights, and to enable the actuarial community in SCOR to better understand and use our pricing results.

**Key duties and responsibilities**
- You will dive into the fascinating world of global reinsurance and will meaningfully contribute to combining the art and science of risk to protect societies.
- You are part of an engaged and empowered team. You will contribute to the presentation of key results to both technical and executive committees.
- Higher University Degree (Master, PhD) in Actuarial Sciences, Natural science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Quantitative Finance or similar discipline.
- Experience with statistical tools and programming languages such as R or Python.
- Proficiency with MS Office.
- Good conceptual and analytical capabilities and the ability to approach tasks consistently, goal-oriented and independently.
- Excellent communication skills and command in English (fluency in either French or German is a plus).
- Team player attitude and appetite for continuous learning and achievements in an international context.
- Citizen of EU/EFTA country or eligible to work full-time in Switzerland with respective work permit.
