For one of our clients, a private bank, we are looking for a :

Head Of Financial Crime (m/f)

Profile:

- Interpreting and implementing Anti Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions and Know Your Customer (KYC) policies

- Managing the subsequent controls and working closely with the Private Bank businesses to provide direction and interpretation of regulatory requirements.

- Responsible for driving best practices across the jurisdictions and providing ongoing independent oversight of the Financial Crime function in the region through escalation of expertise for the MLROs in the region for complex cases with regards to onboarding, PEPs, transaction monitoring/surveillance cases, and payment/trade sanctions/list screening.

- Undertaking regular reviews of the Special Focus/high risk client relationships and managing outcomes.

- Responsibility for any regional NPSO activities. Identifying trends across the region which require action or escalation to business heads

- Working as part of a global programme, leading regional development of the MLRO role, including identifying competency gaps, upskilling requirements and helping to manage any issues. Leading/chairing regional AML governance forums where possible and applicable.

- Intelligence gathering and sharing from internal (e.g. MI, business plans, cases, court orders/subpoenas) and external sources (e.g. regulators, industry bodies, vendors, conferences/seminars) and disseminating regionally and globally.

- Oversight and coordination of timely and satisfactory action regarding any regulatory or audit findings. Lead for the coordination with Monitoring and Oversight regarding any scheduled monitoring reviews. Facilitator for Global coordination and perspective in conjunction with other Regional Advisory functions and Financial Crime Management Team.

- Key contact point for/with central policy team to shape the global policy agenda with input/requirements from MLROs, e.g. for standardization, simplification etc. Identifying trends where improved guidance/interpretation is required for MLROs.

 

Responsibilities:

- Proven track record at running global advisory function in a complex financial services environment.

- Good understanding of AML and Sanctions requirements and how they apply to the banking industry.

- Ability to develop and motivate staff in a way that enables them to fully exploit their potential and deliver excellent service. Previous leadership and people management and development skills are required.

- Degree level, or equivalent. A Diploma in Financial Crime AML is desirable.

- Fluent French and English.
