Employment Type: PermanentContract Duration: About the team you are joiningThe airline industry is moving towards full airline retailing to become truly customer centric, and in control of its products, money, and data. This change requires a complete review and rebuild of the industry architecture, standards, and processes. You will report to the Director, Industry Architecture and Passenger Standards and you will be responsible for translating the strategy of Aviation Industry transformation towards modern retailing practices into a framework of business capabilities, value streams, processes and industry interoperability standards using modern technologies.You will also lead the formulation and communication of the industry business reference architecture and conceptual data model across the entire distribution, financial and service delivery business domains. You will also drive the development of transformation roadmaps and management of dependencies to expedite the adoption of the new business practices and capabilities. What your day would be likeDevelop and communicate the industry reference architecture and business capability maps as crucial artifacts in enabling industry-wide transformation across projects and IATA governance (Advisory Councils, Boards, Working Groups). Perform operating and business model analysis for synergies and interoperability across airlines and their business partners.Document and communicate an industry “Big Picture” for modernization of interoperability standards enabling new competitive business practices.

Propose solutions in the technology enablement of core capabilities and value streams.Provide feedback on key transformational and digitalization initiatives with airlines, system providers, and relevant third parties to ensure development and re-use of systemic capabilities, avoiding duplication and vendor lock-in. Manage architecture and standards interdependencies between IATA’s strategic projects to ensure alignment with the industry vision and roadmap. Lead collaboration with ITS architects to ensure fit-for-purpose solutions that can support end-to-end business capabilities lifecycle. Support establishment and harmonization of data management practices throughout FSDS to enable development of a wider portfolio of new industry financial products and services.Ensure internal alignment of operations required to leverage the same architecture to deliver industry solutions and services.We would love to hear from you if you haveBachelor’s degree in Finance, Marketing, or an IT-related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum 7 years’ experience in airline distribution and financial processes. Experience in designing and delivering dynamic pricing solutions in air transportation sector. Experience with data-driven product/offer development. Excellent conceptualization and analytical skills and ability to translate complex subjects into actionable recommendations.Experience with business process modelling and enterprise architecture using various tools and techniques (e.g. UML) is a plus.
