Owner & Consultant at Hochstrasser Personal - Recruiting in commodity trading For an established commodity trading company based in Zug, Switzerland. You will join the legal team and contribute to complex international commercial, civil, and regulatory matters. Responsibilities Provide strategic legal advice on international commodity trading transactions, including sales, shipping, and storage contracts. Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements such as sale and purchase agreements, intercompany agreements and charter parties. Ensure compliance with local and international laws, maritime regulations, and industry standards. Advise on civil law and common law issues affecting the company’s global operations. Collaborate with business units to identify legal risks, mitigate exposure, and provide proactive solutions. Requirements Law degree and admission to practice in at least one jurisdiction. 7–10+ years of experience in international commercial law, with significant experience in commodity trading. Deep understanding of common law and civil law systems, maritime law, and financial market regulations. Strong experience in compliance, risk management, and dispute resolution in cross-border contexts. Excellent negotiation, drafting, and advisory skills with high attention to detail. Good team player with strong interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating effectively across departments and regions. Ability to work independently and manage high-stakes, cross-border projects. Multilingual skills are an advantage (English mandatory; additional languages are an advantage).
