We are seeking a highly motivated Junior System Administrator to join our dynamic team. The candidate will be a significant contributor in a four-person team that manages all DXT Unix/Linux IT resources, working closely with the other team members and with the system end users, such as database administrators, developers, analysts, and data scientists, handling day-to-day activities, new requirements, and issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare, roll out and maintain DXT Commodities Linux servers, with local and networked storage.
  2. Set up and manage a microservice infrastructure.
  3. Handle and tune a wide range of server types: database servers, HPC servers, storage servers, data analysis servers, HPC Clusters.
  4. Storage management, tuning and troubleshooting.
  5. Systems performance monitoring.
  6. Documentation creation and maintenance.
  7. Full ticket lifecycle management: from initial analysis to solution implementation.

Requirements:

  1. Strong experience with containerization systems.
  2. Solid TCP/IP networking experience, needed to properly interact with the network management team.
  3. Shell scripting basic knowledge, to maintain legacy code.
  4. Oracle RDBMS or PostgreSQL knowledge is a plus.
  5. Commercial Cloud providers (AWS, OCI, Azure) experience is also a plus.
  6. Bachelor's or master’s degree in STEM are preferred, but not mandatory.
  7. Appetite to improve and learn in-depth.
  8. Resourcefulness with strong communication and analytical skills.
  9. Ability to establish a work relationship with the internal customers.
  10. Able to work effectively during off hours on-call activities.
