JOB PURPOSE

An exciting opportunity exists for a world class Public Area Attendant & Florist to join our newly created luxury travel brand “Explora Journeys”. The Public Area Attendant & Florist maintains the plants and flowers in all public areas, suites and residences as well as keeps a suitable inventory for plant/flower maintenance and bouquet creation. Partake in general housekeeping duties of the ship’s public areas as well as any other related tasks as specified by the Housekeeping Manager.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Process flower orders and receive shipments, prune flowers at periodic intervals, and arrange bouquets as per Company standard and guests’ requests.
  2. Update flower-related information and keep an accurate track of all vases delivered in the guest suites.
  3. Ensure that the flower locker is clean and tidy, fridge-stored flowers have clean water, and the ends are trimmed regularly. Maintain the availability of vases, pots, Oasis, plant tape, wire, and other cutting accessories.
  4. Demonstrate accurate, updated knowledge regarding flowers' nutritional requirements.
  5. Familiarize oneself with the itinerary and follow up on flower orders according to the season and geographical area visited.
  6. Attend daily briefings conducted by the Assistant Housekeeper/Housekeeping Manager and communicate regularly regarding housekeeping challenges and projects.
  7. Follow the cleaning schedules set by housekeeping management.
  8. Carry out additional duties as instructed by the Assistant Housekeeper/Housekeeping Manager.
  9. Ensure garbage is disposed of before the shift ends and that all garbage is separated in accordance with public health and environmental regulations.
  10. Complete the relevant logs for lint and garbage separation.
  11. Report any maintenance issues to the Assistant Housekeeper/Housekeeping Manager.
  12. Follow the Timetable as instructed by management.
  13. Assist with embarkation/disembarkation duties as requested by management.
  14. Maintain, clean, and sanitize all assigned areas.
  15. Shampoo carpets/upholstery when necessary, following the cleaning rotation.
  16. Maintain a strong sense of urgency at all times while on duty and offer assistance to other Hosts if needed.
  17. Assist in achieving budgets by minimizing waste and breakage, maintaining proper handling procedures.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. One year in a similar position. Cruise ship experience preferred.
  2. Must be able to climb, bend, perform repetitive motions, and eventually heavy lifting.
  3. Must maintain physical fitness to perform tasks associated with the role.
  4. Basic knowledge of computers.
  5. Fluent in written and spoken English. Any additional European language is considered an advantage.

VISA REQUIREMENTS (if any)

Possess a valid passport and, if available, a seaman book.
