Our International Operations (IO), the merged Medical & Marketing team in Zurich, is looking for a Senior Medical Director, Cardiovascular and Emerging Therapy Areas (CETA) to join and drive the strategic scientific and medical business development of cardiovascular disease (CVD). The Position
As our new Senior Medical Director, CETA, you will drive the strategic scientific and medical business development of CVD as a new disease area across IO, with a strong focus on Heart Failure. Furthermore, you will:
- Ensure that regional/country teams maximise the utilisation of CVD/HF attributes to support current and future brands.
- Development of HF competencies within the medical function at IO level, including defining the need for onboarding programmes and competency development pathways, as well as driving best practice sharing.
- Development and execution of medical tactics and initiatives targeting IO regions and individual markets in support of scientific messaging for HF. This includes mapping of patient journeys and diagnosis/therapeutic patterns, creating influencer maps, establishing relationships with key external thought leaders in HF, and independently driving scientific interactions with HCPs.
- Ensure medical and business insights collected from affiliates and Regions within the HF area/CVD product benefits are well represented in global development decisions and medical strategies.
- Drive and support data generation initiatives at various levels (regions, key markets) within HF in line with overall IO medical and commercial priorities.
Qualifications
You could be the person we are looking for when you have:
- M.D. background with min. 7 years of experience focused in cardiovascular medicine, from medical practice/academia and the pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong understanding of drug development principles.
- As a minimum, basic understanding of regulatory environment for new drug approvals with major regulatory agencies (EMA, FDA, China).
- Min. 5 years of experience with pharmaceutical industry, including direct involvement in pre-launch activities and other elements of medical affairs mix.
- Strong network within the medical and scientific community within the CVD space with ability to engage in high-level, scientific discussion with high-profile internal and external audiences.
