Your Future Role
140 years of Swiss railway history meet modern solutions for green mobility in Zurich. With 300 colleagues, our Zurich site serves as a global competence center for high-performance traction technology and a development hub for locomotives, bogies, mechanical and electrical systems, as well as services for the local and global markets. Our corporate functions play a key role in supporting and continuously improving the performance of our sites.
You’ll report to Martin BOHAC - Site Project Engineering Manager in Zürich - CH, and work alongside passionate, motivated, and dedicated international teammates.
You'll specifically take care of leading traction project developments and delivery. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Product Management, Engineering, Advance Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Operations, Requirements Managers, Customers, and Suppliers). You'll be the person the team turns to for momentum and to push projects and R&D forward. You’ll manage development targets, requirements, and schedules, enabling those around you to excel.
Key Responsibilities- Perform technical decisions and trade-offs within the project team.
- Manage Project (R&D or Tender) Engineering activities by delivering Engineering Work Packages in compliance with the Engineering QCDP commitment.
- Represent Engineering among the project core team and manage interfaces with Leading/Participating Units, providing a global view of design progress, issues, and risks.
- Manage the project engineering core team and their commitment for the project or R&D.
We’ll look to you for:
- Ownership and responsibility for engineering project work packages.
- Providing regular reporting and performance analysis to management.
- Defining and applying the Engineering Management Plan.
- Managing Engineering risks mitigation and savings action plans.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable rules, instructions, and standards.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in traction and product development.
- Strong knowledge of the Traction business.
- Capacity to coordinate and ensure collaboration of multi-site/multi-métier teams.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
