Your role and responsibilities
In this role you will be working as a product line manager for Energy Storage System (ESS) within the Motion Traction division (MOTR), being part of the management team and in close cooperation with our local Divisions. You will be responsible for traction battery product and system business success on a global level. The product line currently has dedicated factories in Baden, Switzerland and Minden in Germany with further plans to expand in other traction locations as part of our growth strategy. This business is supported by global common resources in functions like Marketing and Sales, R&D, Engineering, etc. The work model for the role is: hybrid #LI-hybrid This role is open globally, but location is set in ABB offices in Switzerland, Italy, Poland, Sweden, Germany or Spain. You will mainly accountable for: Define, drive and execute the business strategy for the product line, in line with division mandate. Accountable for preparation of annual performance plans (budgets) and delivering the financial performance as outlined in the plan contributing to top line growth and profitability. Ensure safety, quality, delivery and productivity of the product line, establish and maintain a sustainable and effective value chain, from supplier to customer and from order to delivery (products, projects and service) Lead the product line business development to define appropriate products, services, and markets to further grow the business. Work together with sales and marketing, product management and the LDM’s to define the appropriate setup inside the division. Ensure the business has a competitive portfolio with most competitive products for the dedicated applications. Drive and encourage close cooperations with functions like, Engineering, Project Management, Operations and SCM to ensure effective operation of the project delivery. Build an effective, caring, competent and high performing community whilst setting the standards to enable an engaged, empowered, diverse and inclusive culture. Always think one level up and around own area of responsibility and seek cross Division opportunities to maximize product and solution delivery.
Qualifications for the role
- Bachelor or higher degree in Engineering (electrical, automation, power electronics, electronics) with Business Administration or P&L experience.
- 10+ years of experience in a similar role in the industry and in leading global teams with ability to influence.
- Strong technical background and commercial acumen to understand the value proposition development and drive new business with strategic approach.
- Broad and deep understanding of customer engagement.
- Basic knowledge of batteries’ energy storage would been an added advantage.
- Experience in previous business manager and establishing product line preferred.
- Be a proven collaborative team player.
