ABOUT THE ROLE

As one of the world's leading engineering and digital transformation services providers, we are looking to expand our very successful Data Practice across Western Europe to meet huge increases in client demand for our services. We have a rare opportunity for a data industry leader to join our Data Science, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence (ML/AI) Practice with a specific focus on leading and building the business in Western Europe. You will report to the Global Head of Data Science in the US and manage a sizeable team as the practice continues to grow. The role offers exciting opportunities to play a highly visible role in partnership with the global data leadership team to drive growth and our go-to-market strategy. We are open to hiring someone in the UK, Germany, Netherlands, or Switzerland and may consider other locations in Western Europe for the right person.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead the Western European Data Science, ML/AI Practice.
  2. Work with the Global Data Practice team and European Business leadership to expand our footprint across Western Europe.
  3. Drive Generative AI, Advanced Analytics, Computer Vision, and NLP competency development.
  4. Focus on practical AI application frameworks, including Data, MLOps, and LLMOps.
  5. Assist in the development of enterprise transformation offerings with AI adoption as a major driver for productivity enhancement.
  6. Champion an AI-first product vision across vertical and horizontal teams.
  7. Collaborate with client partners up to C-level to ensure satisfaction through effective delivery.
  8. Support sales/pre-sales activities by assessing Data opportunities and creating proposals.
  9. Manage and mentor a multi-disciplinary European data team fostering their professional growth.
  10. Stay updated with advancements in ML/AI and recommend new approaches to address challenges.
  11. Attend and speak at relevant industry events showcasing EPAM's capabilities.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field or extensive relevant work experience.
  2. Strong hands-on background in data science and understanding of AI/ML technologies.
  3. Good grasp of ML operationalization, MLOps, and Data Platforms.
  4. Proven leader who can drive a Data Science, ML/AI Practice in a large consulting organization.
  5. Extensive work history across Data technology and business.
  6. Proven track record in designing and implementing ML/AI solutions.
  7. Experience engaging and influencing senior stakeholders for funding or selling projects.
  8. Exceptional ability to drive C-level client engagements.
  9. Able to think outside the box and drive end-to-end initiatives.
  10. Robust tech background with hands-on experience is essential.
  11. Fluent English speaker required, with German preferred.
