Hedge Fund Operations Manager – Equities

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our multi-manager hedge fund specializing in equities and listed derivatives. Operating across European and North American markets, our fund employs a variety of strategies including statistical arbitrage, fundamental long/short, and event-driven approaches. We deliver absolute returns while maintaining robust drawdown management, achieving the best risk-adjusted returns in the hedge fund space.

Responsibilities:

  1. Update the performance metrics of our core strategies directly in web databases.
  2. Manage the trading account infrastructure by opening, closing, and adjusting accounts with our prime broker.
  3. Coordinate with prime brokers to establish connectivity between various Order and Execution Management Systems (OEMS) through FIX protocol.
  4. Enhance our analytics and operations platforms using Python and SQL.
  5. Act as the coordinator between front-office and back-office teams, leveraging Microsoft Fabric, Python, and SQL.
  6. Perform daily reconciliations of trades, positions, prices, and cash between the Portfolio Management System (Enfusion) and Prime Brokers.
  7. Conduct monthly reconciliations of Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations between APEX Fund Services and internal systems.
  8. Ensure valuations remain synchronized across the fund administrator (APEX), the PMS (Enfusion), and our prime broker.
  9. Identify and lead automation initiatives, including the exploration of AI-driven solutions to streamline routine tasks and improve data processing.
  10. Partnering with external technical support where necessary, and taking a hands-on role in coding and systems integration to evaluate and implement emerging AI/ML tools for greater operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Several years of experience in fund operations and accounting within the hedge fund industry.
  2. Proficiency in coding languages such as Python and SQL.
  3. Familiarity with trading- and portfolio management systems like Enfusion.
  4. Experience with OEMS, FIX protocol, and prime broker connectivity setups.
  5. Strong understanding of financial instruments, particularly equities and derivatives.
  6. Demonstrated interest in leveraging new technologies, including AI and machine learning, to drive improvements across hedge fund operations.
  7. Business proficient in English.
