UNICEF works in over 190 countries to save children’s lives, defend their rights, and help them fulfill their potential from early childhood through adolescence. Purpose Of Assignment Under the overall guidance of the Corporate Alliance Manager and working closely with the B2C for RR Taskforce, the Product Licensing Consultant will support the strategic effort to centralize product licensing operations managed by a third‑party agency. The consultant will facilitate research, synthesis, drafting, and stakeholder coordination from December 2025 onwards. Scope Of Work Strategy Development – work with external agencies and internal stakeholders to develop a detailed strategy for centralizing product licensing at UNICEF. Stakeholder Engagement and Feedback – keep stakeholders engaged and solicit feedback during strategy creation. Compilation, Review, and Publication – collate operational plans, refine based on feedback, copy‑edit, graphic design, and approval processes to publish a user‑friendly strategy. Creative Exploration – identify additional ways to increase product licensing revenue such as co‑branding, character development, etc. Development of Guidelines – work closely with PASS, Comms, Legal Unit, and the global product licensing agency to develop and update guidelines. Deliverables / Output Securing centralized agency for product licensing by 15 January 2026. Request for Proposal (RFP) finalized by 15 February 2026. Evaluation and selection completed by 15 March 2026. Comprehensive guidelines finalized by 15 April 2026. Onboarding plan implemented by 15 May 2026. Monitoring and evaluation processes operationalized by 15 June 2026. Stakeholder engagement plan launched by 15 July 2026. Internal communication package developed by 15 August 2026. Co‑branding and mono‑branding identity developed by 15 September 2026. Market assessment report completed by 15 October 2026. Partnership agreement secured by 15 November 2026. Comprehensive review report submitted by 14 December 2026. Payment Payment will be made on submission of an invoice and satisfactory completion of the above deliverables. UNICEF reserves the right to withhold all or a portion of payment if performance is unsatisfactory, if deliverables are incomplete or not delivered, or for failure to meet deadlines. All materials developed will remain the copyright of UNICEF. Consultant's Workplace and Official Travel The Consultant will be remote/home‑based. Travel during the assignment on a per‑need basis will be covered separately by UNICEF and is not included in the lump‑sum fee. Travel Clause All UNICEF rules and regulations related to travel of Consultants apply. All travels shall be undertaken only upon prior written approval by UNICEF. The consultant must be fit to travel, hold a valid UN BSAFE certificate, mandatory inoculations, a valid travel/medical insurance, and an immunization/vaccination card. Education A Bachelor’s degree in business development, social science, communications, international development, business administration or related fields. Experience Minimum five (5) years of progressively professional experience in licensing, brand strategy, merchandising, marketing, or a similar field. Direct experience of product licensing is required, ideally in a commercial setting. Experience working in complex environments with multiple stakeholders is required. Strong understanding of the UN and partnerships is an asset. Strong IT skills and fluency with Microsoft Office Suites, SharePoint, graphic design software, and other programmes is highly desired. Language Proficiency Fluency in English (written and verbal) is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) is an asset. Remarks and Fees Please indicate your all‑inclusive (lump‑sum) fees against the deliverables listed above, including all associated administrative and travel costs (if applicable), in the cover letter. The office selects the individual based on best value for money. Payment of professional fees will be based on submission of agreed deliverables. UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment in case the deliverables submitted are not up to the required standard or in case of delays in submitting the deliverables on the part of the consultant.
