dsm-firmenich are looking for a highly driven and motivated Scientist for our Analytical Sciences department.

In this role you will join the Analytical Sciences department in Kaiseraugst, part of Science & Research division, and will contribute to our innovation projects success.

Your key responsibilities:

  1. Develop and apply innovative analytical solutions to improve the characterization of health, nutritional and cosmetical products and their applications.
  2. Scout and implement disruptive analytical technologies for assessing specific product properties, focusing on efficiency and throughput.
  3. Plan, prioritize and execute experiments to address prominent technical questions and build scientific knowledge.
  4. Contribute to the technical and scientific development of the team.
  5. Collaborate on multidisciplinary and cross-site innovation projects and build strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Communicate scientific results and project progress to various audiences.

You bring:

  1. PhD or post-doctoral Degree in analytical chemistry, with sound experience in organic chemistry or biochemistry, or MS Degree in analytical chemistry or related domains with 5-10 years of experience in industry.
  2. Strong practical and theoretical background on (quantitative) LC -(HR)MS for targeted and untargeted analysis is a must, with track record on advanced data processing, statistical data analysis and validation of analytical methods.
  3. Interest and knowledge in automation of workflows in an analytical laboratory and coding (Python, R, etc).
  4. Willingness to work at the bench.
  5. Knowledge in food and formulation technologies is an advantage.
  6. Creativity and open-mindedness to solve complex analytical problems following a rigorous scientific approach.
  7. Excellent team spirit, communication, inter-domain knowledge, organization skills and networking capacity.
  8. Fluent in the English language (both verbal and written). German language would be an added value.
