ANH are looking for an experienced animal biologist with mature data science and consultancy experience for a role in a global team to support our emerging Precision Services business. The role is diverse and includes working directly with customers, regional and global technical and sales teams and the global ANH Business Development organization. Intimate knowledge of the global livestock sector, strong communication skills and a proven ability to draw actionable insights from disparate data streams are critically important.

**Your key responsibilities**:

- Directly support ANH customers, regional teams, marketing and innovation colleagues with digital services and consultancy
- Identify and explain complex relationships between biomarker patterns and host welfare, nutrition and health status
- Work in close cooperation with scientists of different disciplines including microbiology, animal sciences, computational biology and analytical chemistry to define and advance the precision services ambitions
- Collaborate with computational biologists to interpret sequencing results
- Collaborate with scientists across DSM (in U.S. and Globally) on joint projects and new idea generation
- Prepare presentations, manuscripts, memos and reports for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Assist in identifying patent opportunities and helping to file them
- Implement statistics and/or machine learning techniques for data analysis
- Utilize knowledge of animal agriculture production, laboratory work, and data analysis to truly serve as a liaison to coalesce multiple discipline and departments within DSM to achieve common goals.
- Travel occasionally (primarily domestic, but also international)

**You bring**:

- A PhD Scientist in Microbiology, Microbiome or Animal Science Research, with 3-5 years additional relevant experience
- Experience in presenting complex results to customers in a clear and engaging way
- Experience in working with biomarkers in multiple animal species
- Experience designing your own experiments, with mínimal feedback from team members
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
- Knowledgeable about public database resources such as NCBI, EMBL or commercial/proprietary genomic databases.
- Able to work in multidisciplinary teams that span various projects and multiple locations.
- Able to adapt to changing business and technical environments, to meet tight deadlines, be focused on detail and have an emphasis on quality.
- An excellent oral and written communicator in English.
- Experience with programming/scripting languages such as Python, R, C++, Java, or Perl
- Experience with Statistical software packages and machine learning algorithms
