We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Automation Category Specialist / Buyer to join our dynamic procurement team in the pharmaceutical or biotech sector. This role involves supporting category management, driving automation initiatives, and ensuring efficient purchasing operations.

Job Title: Automation Procurement Specialist / Buyer

Duration: 1-year contract with possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deploy category strategies.
  • Manage demand, supply, and capacity with key suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Conduct supplier relationship management and market monitoring.
  • Lead procurement of hardware, software, and licensing models.
  • Execute strategic and operational procurement tasks.
  • Participate in projects to improve technical purchasing efficiency.
  • Support category-specific benchmarks and cost breakdowns.

Qualifications:

  • Technical or Commercial training (Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Business Management, Project Management, Supply Chain, Electrical or Computer Engineering).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CIPS, Six Sigma) are a plus.
  • Several years of experience in procurement, buying, or supply chain management (pharmaceutical or biotech sector preferred).
  • Familiarity with procurement automation tools.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software (e.g., SAP, Ariba, Oracle).

Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid work environment with 3 days a week at Visp site and occasional travel to supplier sites.
