Position Summary:

The Regent EU Tax Director role has primary responsibility for all tax matters within the EU region and will report to the Director of Tax with dotted line reporting to the Regent Chief Financial Officer. In conjunction with the wider Group Tax Team, the role will be responsible for designing and leading our EU purchase due diligence, restructuring, tax strategy, and tax reporting.

Responsibilities of Position:

  1. Support the Director of Tax in delivering strategic and commercially beneficial tax solutions adhering to our core values and policies.
  2. Lead the development and delivery of tax planning and strategy, identifying opportunities and ensuring benefits are realized, risks are managed, and compliance is maintained.
  3. Actively engage with the business and operating units to understand existing processes and activities, identify new areas of risk and opportunity, and implement appropriate solutions.
  4. Provide oversight and control over local tax activities including corporate income tax compliance, internal provisioning, and tax disclosures for the statutory accounts processes.
  5. Manage and forecast the effective tax rate of the Group.
  6. Work with the Director of Tax to develop and improve transfer pricing within the EU region and support with the preparation of appropriate documentation.
  7. Work with the Group Indirect Tax Manager to support indirect tax within the EU.
  8. Manage tax due diligence and structuring for Regent M&A activities.
  9. Provide active oversight and hands-on support in managing relationships with tax authorities and tax audits within the EU. Ensure responses to notices, queries, and correspondence in a timely manner.
  10. Operate as a senior leader in the tax and finance teams as well as the wider business helping to deliver and implement strategic goals.
  11. Actively support, develop, and mentor at all levels within the tax and finance teams promoting a collaborative, diverse, and supportive work environment.

Skill Requirements:

  1. Multi-Jurisdictional expertise across the EU with the ability to research and resolve complex issues.
  2. Ability to lead and deliver in a dynamic environment, identifying opportunities, driving change, and continuous improvement with a positive attitude and critical mindset.
  3. Willingness to step in and work in detail to achieve objectives.
  4. Ability to operate under pressure and capable of managing numerous work streams at once.
  5. Ability to work collaboratively within a small global team, sharing knowledge and ideas.
  6. Ability to build and maintain internal and external networks and grow strong relationships.
  7. Must be a confident communicator with good interpersonal skills and a proactive mindset.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's Degree (or non UK equivalent).
  2. Professional certification (ideally ACA, CTA or non UK equivalent).
  3. Established career in corporate income tax working in or with large multinational and/or public companies.
  4. Experience in a broad range of international tax issues including structuring, financing, transfer pricing, M&A, etc.
  5. Good understanding and hands-on application of tax accounting under IFRS.

Licensing or Special Certification Requirements:

  1. Valid driver's license beneficial.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to work at a personal computer for extended periods of time.

Working Conditions:

  1. Occasionally lifts and carries up to 25 pounds.
  2. Some of work time is spent standing, walking, lifting, and bending.
  3. Occasionally works within an automotive components manufacturing office setting and may be exposed to heat, cold, and fumes/chemicals.
