We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Tax Claims Specialist to join our team in Zurich on a freelance basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax and client onboarding, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of tax reclaim processes. This role requires both technical tax knowledge and the ability to handle administrative tasks effectively, particularly related to tax compliance, client onboarding, and tax reporting.

Responsibilities:
  • Client Documentation: Repaper clients with a Tax Claims mandate, including processing RaS client documentation for custodians and handling Onboarding & Power of Attorney with vendors for Reclaim-clients.
  • System Setup: Manually set up clients in UBS systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data.
  • Tax & Client Onboarding: Utilize your tax and client onboarding knowledge to manage and complete tasks efficiently, ensuring all necessary steps are followed.
  • Paperwork Management: Prepare, process, and maintain all paperwork related to the accounting cycle, including preparation and filing of tax returns.
  • Tax Reporting: Confirm the accuracy of records and documents related to tax reporting and preparation, ensuring compliance with local and national tax regulations.
  • Vendor & Agency Communication: Maintain written and oral communication between the company and relevant vendors and regulatory agencies to ensure smooth tax claims processing.
  • Tax Compliance: Stay updated on changes in tax codes, accounting laws, and relevant regulations that could impact tax claims.
  • Research & Analysis: Conduct research on tax compliance issues at the local and national levels, providing insights and support for tax-related decisions.
Skills and Experience:
  • Strong knowledge of Tax Reclaim and Relief at Source processes.
  • Understanding of client structures, including Natural Persons and Legal Entities.
  • Highly skilled in administrative tasks and data management (Excel proficiency required).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral in English (required).
  • Additional language skills are highly appreciated (e.g., German, French, or other EU languages).
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in all aspects of tax claims and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working within UBS systems or similar financial platforms.
  • Familiarity with local Swiss tax laws and regulatory environments.
  • Previous experience in client onboarding within the financial sector is a plus.
  • This is a freelance position based in Zurich, Switzerland.
  • Only EU citizens with a valid passport will be considered for this role.
