Your role

Are you a dynamic and experienced Strategy Manager with a track record in Strategy Consulting, Technology Strategy, Digital Transformation and Asset Management? Do you enjoy working at the forefront of strategic business transformation powered by Technology?

The role is pivotal in shaping the future of our AM Tech function and covers multiple dimensions including the strategy and operating model of overall AM Tech function, our Technology target architecture and application landscape, new technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and how we can apply them effectively, and how we integrate CSAM efficiently while shifting towards a scalable future setup. For this, we’re looking for a Strategy Manager to:

  1. Support, challenge and enhance CSAM integration activities to successfully deliver against plan.
  2. Develop and articulate a clear and compelling post-CSAM integration AM Tech target operating model aligned with our AM Business and GOTO objectives.
  3. Develop a holistic performance and governance framework for our AM Tech function in close collaboration with our AM Tech CBO to continuously improve our strategic financial, change, risk, people and organization management.
  4. Detail, plan and mobilize AM Tech strategy and transformation roadmap beyond CSAM integration in close collaboration with AM Business.
  5. Define strategic planning and mobilization activities for the AM target operating model and AM Tech architecture in close collaboration with the wider organization.
  6. Support holistic AI strategy for AM in close collaboration with our AM Tech CTO and AI CoE.
  7. Regularly prepare, review and syndicate materials required for various stakeholder meetings working closely with the AM Tech management.
  8. Systematically monitor industry trends and emerging technologies, and engage with vendors to identify opportunities for UBS AM growth and differentiation by Technology.
  9. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure AM Tech initiatives are effectively integrated and aligned with overall strategies.
  10. Manage and prioritize a portfolio of strategic projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  11. Foster a culture of innovation, digitalization, collaboration, and excellence, and be a culture carrier for key UBS Principles and Behaviors.

You’ll be working in the Asset Management Tech division as part of the AM Tech Strategy team in Zurich. We are building a high-performing team of technology strategists that shape the future of our AM Tech organization and architecture. This is a unique opportunity to be part of defining how the newest technologies will be applied in a market-leading business environment and how to transform into a modern and highly effective Technology function. You will be reporting directly into the Head of AM Tech Strategy and gain the opportunity to continuously build your skillset and strategic thinking.

Your expertise

  1. 3-5+ years of experience in structuring, managing, and delivering projects at a top-tier strategy consulting firm or equivalent strategy role within a large global corporation in the Financial Services industry.
  2. General understanding of the Asset Management industry.
  3. Good understanding of major technology trends and innovations, and their impact requirements.
  4. Self-starter who thrives and can multitask in fast-paced and often ambiguous environments.
  5. Actively contributed to strategic decision-making processes and are comfortable making choices and assessing trade-offs.
  6. Analytical and data-driven, detail-oriented, independent person with excellent communication and presentation as well as analytical and problem-solving skills.
  7. Strong/proficient skills in PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel.
  8. Team player with an enthusiastic and proactive personality; highly motivated, able to work independently and apply own initiative.
  9. Strong organization skills and ability to structure and simplify complexity.
  10. Strong active listening and communication skills to build networks and partnerships at all levels.
  11. Experience in applying strategic frameworks and tools for analyzing strategic problems and developing strategies.
  12. Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to establish credibility and strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
