Job Description

We are looking for a leader who will work in a key role to ensure the efficient scheduling of the production of customer orders and control the flow of raw materials and finished goods in accordance with the production schedule. Perform duties to efficiently receive all raw materials and offsite manufactured components. Perform duties to efficiently ship finished product and work in process to end user or vendors. This position is also responsible for Shipping & Receiving personnel as well as Material Handling in manufacturing and acts in a hands-on leadership capacity.

Essential Functions
  1. Maintain the raw material levels required by the scheduling, forecasting and safety stock reports for manufacturing needs.
  2. Provide Master Schedule information for entire company through use of ERP system, sales forecasts, market trends, short term demand and other customer requirements.
  3. Plans and establishes production schedules for a wide variety of departments to conform with master production schedules. Allocates work to proper work center, giving consideration to load, capacity, and efficient utilization of equipment.
  4. Work with team to place purchase orders for raw materials and MRO items with vendors.
  5. Release production orders to departments. Initiate any attachments needed for production as well as labels through the correct clerical functions.
  6. Tracks production progress, completion and other factors affecting schedules.
  7. Ensures that Sales and Customer Service are provided with “Available to Promise” inventory information.
  8. Take responsibility for inventory levels within the parameters of the Master schedule and knowledge of shop floor space when filling the warehouses.
  9. Act as a resource for the Receiving functions, regarding incoming purchase orders and raw material disposition within the plant.
  10. Assist Quality Control and Receiving with disposition any purchased material that is deemed unacceptable through vendor contact, research or whatever means are needed.
Additional Responsibilities
  1. Maintain import/export documents as per ISO and ITAR.
  2. Responsible for scheduling monthly Moeller Miner shipments.
  3. Responsible for RMAs.
  4. Responsible for all shipping contracts and pricing negotiation.
  5. Responsible for vetting all domestic and international shipping documentation and companies used for MEPC shipments.
  6. Responsible for filing claims related to shipping.
  7. Schedule and handle all special shipments for Manufacturing, Sales and Engineering.
  8. Maintain/coordinate completion of advanced shipping notices.
  9. Review shipping documents and pick notes provided by Sales Department.
  10. Back up for S&R, Materials personnel.
Tools, Equip., & Measuring Instruments

Use of ERP applications and capacity planning software. Calculator, and Microsoft Office applications.

Education and / or Experience

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business or equivalent with an emphasis in materials management. Four years of experience in materials management required. Experience with shipping and receiving functions required. Ability to work collaboratively across departments to achieve common goals.

Relocation assistance is not available for this role.
