Job Description:

For our Group Financial Crime Compliance team in Zurich, we are looking for a Senior Compliance Officer to deal with the topic of Sensitive Clients, including PEPs.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice to EFG locations in selected markets (LATAM, MENA, APAC, CIS).
  • Establish, implement, monitor, and enforce a globally applicable Sensitive Client program.
  • Handle Sensitive Client cases requiring Group approval, particularly during onboarding or periodic reviews.
  • Represent EFG and participate in external industry working groups or conferences.
  • Provide training to business areas with heightened exposure.
  • Keep management informed on trends and changes in compliance risks.
  • Create reports, conduct group-wide risk assessments, and perform independent controls.
  • Share knowledge to contribute to the strengthening of EFG’s risk culture.

Skills and Experience

  • University degree in law.
  • At least 10 years of experience in compliance or risk.
  • Strong knowledge of challenges and solutions in combating financial crime, as well as industry protocols and best practices.
  • Ability to explain and apply relevant regulatory laws and industry standards in the financial sector.
  • Hands-on experience in handling corruption prevention programs.
  • Efficient coordination and communication with stakeholders and internal clients.
  • Flexibility and stress resistance.
  • Reliable, solution-oriented work approach and quick comprehension.
  • Assertive team player.
  • Excellent oral and written English; other languages such as Russian, Spanish, or Chinese are an asset.
  • Autonomy and accuracy.
  • Excellent conceptual and analytical skills, with the ability to deal with complex issues.
