ph3Job Description /h3pThe Head of Global Medical Publications is tasked with leading and mentoring a team of publications managers, ensuring their professional development and effective project execution. The Head is responsible for the coordination and standardisation of operational activities of systems, processes, policies, and frameworks that support the planning, execution, and governance of scientific and medical publications activities across the Therapeutic Areas. The Head collaborates with Global Medical Affairs and Clinical Development (MACD), regional partners and other relevant departments to execute and integrate publications operational needs and activities, and ensures adequate resourcing aligned to identified priorities. The Head remains updated on relevant regulations and industry standards related to publications, ensuring compliance in all activities. The Head is a member of the Medical Excellence and Operations Leadership Team, providing input to share best practices, drive a supportive and collaborative culture, and enable achievement of organisational goals. /ph3Key Responsibilities /h3ulliManage, lead, and coach a team of publication managers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture /liliOversee the planning, development, and execution of strategic publication plans across the Therapeutic Areas /liliProvide guidance on governance and industry standards to foster effective and compliant publications execution /liliDevelop, coordinate, and standardise key operational processes and frameworks, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness of publications activities /liliLiaise with medical colleagues and other cross‑functional/regional partners to enhance the value of medical and scientific publications, whilst demonstrating their impact to the wider organization and the external community /li /ulh3Qualifications /h3ulliAdvanced degree (PhD) and/or certification in scientific medical field (i.e., PharmD) /lili10+ years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry (e.g., Medical Affairs/Medical Publications/Scientific Communications) /liliProven leadership experience in managing teams and their development /liliDeep knowledge of the highest scientific and ethical standards, enabling work in accordance with applicable rules and regulations /liliFluency in English /liliOther European languages a bonus /li /ulh3Personal Attributes /h3ulliLeadership and team management /liliCollaborative team player who can work effectively in a team setting and interact respectfully with people of different cultural, seniority and functional backgrounds /liliExcellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills /liliAbility to work with cross‑functional stakeholders and other teams /liliDemonstrated ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks, with excellent time management skills /liliSense of accountability and ownership /liliEntrepreneurial, driven and engaged /liliHigh scientific and ethical integrity /liliAble to operate in a quickly changing environment /liliProven success and ability to influence outcomes without direct authority /liliStrategic thinker who will challenge status quo to improve performance /liliInnovative and creative /liliExceptional computer skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.), familiar with AI applications and publication management tools such as Pubstrat /liliIn order to be successful in this position you should posess excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, high ethical standards, and the agility to multitask, prioritise and change direction when required.
