Our unit Gas Insulated Switchgears (GIS), based in Zürich-Oerlikon, is active in the development and production of gas insulated switching systems. We ensure the high reliability of our systems by using state-of-the-art development tools and methods.

For our Business Unit High Voltage Products in Zürich-Oerlikon we are looking for a Team Leader in Technical and Commercial Project Management.
In this challenging position you will provide leadership to and develop a group of GIS project managers. You will be the first escalation level for the project portfolio in the assigned regional responsibility and coach and lead the team members to support their growth and development. In addition, you will take ownership of one or several interfaces to other key departments to support a smooth project execution across the entire value chain.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead and coach a team of project managers in Switzerland and in our operations center in Chennai, India
  • Support team members in their professional growth and development
  • Oversee the complete project portfolio in assigned region with full accountability
  • Establish and maintain relationships to key internal and external customers in assigned region
  • Stakeholder management with all relevant interfaces that ensures long term success in region in line with Operating Unit strategy
  • Managing escalations by properly preparing, structuring and communicating relevant information to upper management levels. Proposing de-escalation and negotiation strategies to solve escalations
  • Manage one or several assigned interfaces to other key departments for a smooth and successful project execution within the operating unit
  • Coordinate process improvements concerning assigned interfaces
  • Identify gaps and process improvement opportunities to support a smooth end to end project execution process

Your background

  • Bachelor or master's degree in engineering
  • Several years of experience in managing customer projects in the power industry or related field
  • Preferably 3+ years of experience in leading teams or experienced in a senior project management role and willing to take a team lead role
  • Proven experience in managing customer escalations and ability to structure escalations for different management levels
  • Proven competence in commercial management of a project (contract management, cost/margin management, cash flow, etc.)
  • GIS technical know-how and experience in energy technology is an advantage
  • Fluency in English. German and any other language are a plus
  • Good communication, negotiation and organizational skills and experience in intercultural collaboration
