  • Deliver routine progress updates during project meetings, gather feedback, and engage in technical discussions to ensure alignment and optimal performance;
  • Conduct in-depth FEA thermo-mechanical studies to ensure the reliability and efficiency of our systems;
  • Carry out CFD and conjugate heat transfer (CHT) analyses to optimize device performance;
  • Propose innovative conceptual designs and improvements for various components, contributing to the advancement of our technology;
  • Conduct comprehensive literature research to identify relevant technologies and design solutions;
  • Assist in the design, production, and operation of prototype components, bringing your expertise to real-world applications;
  • Collaborate with technical groups to write procurement documents and define material and manufacturing specifications, ensuring the quality and integrity of our components;
  • Support the construction and irradiation of a prototype target at CERN, working in collaboration with other external laboratories and institutions.

Your profile

About us

At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter – fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature. Find out more on
