In short

As a Process Engineer specializing in polymer applications, you will be at the forefront of driving revolutionary material innovations in the footwear industry. Working in a dynamic lab environment, you will collaborate with polymer specialists, tool makers, engineers, developers, designers, and scientists. Your primary focus will be on implementing novel polymer processing techniques to produce high-performance products at scale. Your expertise in polymer processing, engineering background, and hands-on approach will be pivotal in enhancing process stability and supporting the overall material development efforts, ultimately driving cutting-edge innovations for our footwear products.

Your Mission
  • Be part of On's innovation team and work on a novel polymer processing technology, which is just about to be scaled up.
  • Design, build and test prototypes, conduct experiments, and iterate designs based on findings in order to improve the process further.
  • Define, test, and implement improvements based on process data analysis to ensure production efficiency and long-term improvements.
  • Contribute to process development and take ownership of work packages.
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of process data, identify areas for improvement, and develop strategies to enhance efficiency and product quality.
  • Coordinate and plan evaluation of new polymers applied with this novel process.
  • Support the production team with your knowledge and help troubleshoot
  • Collaborate closely with the Innovation- and production team
Your story
  • Bachelor or Master in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in polymer processing industry
  • Knowledge of different engineering disciplines (mechanical testing, manufacturing technologies and sourcing).
  • CAD experience and ability to make technical drawings
  • Basic understanding of automatization and robotics
  • Experience in building prototypes and conducting experiments.
  • Knowledge of injection molding, extrusion and other related processes.
  • Basic understanding of programming languages such as Python, with a desire to expand knowledge further.
  • Perfect fluency in English (spoken and written). Any other language is a plus.
