During your internship, you will support the Portfolio Strategy team on various tasks, with the main focus on modelling activities for reinsurance portfolio steering, involving a mix of pricing, actuarial and stochastic simulation techniques.

We would be happy to combine the internship with a master's thesis, project, or similar, which we would co-supervise.

About the Role

Your daily activities include:
  • Support the development of portfolio modelling approaches, contributing to their methodological development and implementation.
  • Conduct data analysis to support the development of portfolio analytics.
  • Prepare presentations to share your findings and engage with other teams.
About the Team

We are a dynamic team called Portfolio Strategy, reporting into the Chief Underwriting Officer within P&C Reinsurance. We work closely with our executive partners to craft the strategic direction of our underwriting portfolios. Through in-depth analysis, we find opportunities and challenges to optimize our portfolio and provide insights to improve underwriting decision making. We pride ourselves on cultivating effective communication and alignment in underwriting strategy within the organization.

About You
  • Pursuing or recently completed a quantitative undergraduate or graduate degree (e.g., Mathematics, Actuarial Studies)
  • Analytical and programming skills (e.g., R, Python, git)
  • Strong presentation skills and/or interest in developing them further
  • Proficiency in English
