Procurement Professional

As a Procurement Professional, you will be involved in a full range of activities related to the Organization's procurement of supplies
You will:
Your responsibilities
- Advise and support CERN's research and technical departments in identifying procurement strategies within budgets and deadlines;
- Conduct market consultations with a view to preparing the procurement and informing economic operators of the procurement plans and requirements;
- Prepare price enquiries and analyse bids received;
- Negotiate, place and follow up orders, contracts, collaboration agreements and contract amendments, with suppliers and institutes to ensure the lowest possible overall cost within the applicable legal framework;
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
- Manage or contribute to purchasingrelated projects. Initial contract duration of one year with possible extension.
Your profile
Skills and/or knowledge
- Defining procurement strategies;
- Reviewing and providing advice on technical specifications;
- Drafting of commercial documents for a supply or a service contract;
- Managing and following up commercial aspects of contracts, including critical examination and detailed analysis of commercial offers;
- Sourcing new suppliers;
Eligibility criteria:
- You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
- You have a professional background in economics, purchasing, law, engineering.
- a
Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience;
- or a
PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
