Nestlé Research is based in Lausanne, Switzerland, employs approximately 1000 people and is comprised of five Nestlé Institutes: Food Sciences, Health Sciences, Food Safety & Analytical Sciences, Packaging Sciences, and Agricultural Sciences.

A Day in the Life of a (Junior) Research Assistant

  • Promote awareness and commitment to Quality & Safety, Health, Environment (QSHE) across the Institute.
  • Plan project objectives, report on experimentation and results in a timely manner, and present findings to interested parties.
  • Collaborate and interact with team members to ensure effective project management.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to operations or business with sustainable solutions.
  • Follow operational master plan and comply with Good Laboratory Practice.
  • Coach newcomers on laboratory requirements, including QSHE.
  • Develop competencies in in vitro toxicology field and actively support expert network for crossfertilization between different sites.

What will make you successful

  • Degree equivalent to research assistant (lab technician) with good experience on Best Laboratory Practices and in vitro testing.
  • Knowledge of quality, safety and hygiene requirements.
  • Basic R&D or/and operating/factory experience.
  • First exposure in different project and support activities of the organization.
